A lot of councils have gone bike mad, but how many cyclists do you see on these cycle routes ?

So what do the council do, but build more of these unused routes, what we need is to build more roads for vehicles, for cars, for lorries, buses, coaches, bin wagons, vans, the car is King, all hail the bin wagons, they are far more useful than a sodding bicycle

To get their hands on dosh from central government, councils complied with requirement to create cycle lanes.

No one said that these cycle lanes had to be usable.

We went to Robin Park yesterday and saw only one person using the cycle lane, but that was one more than we normally see.Does it ever get busy?

I use all the cycle lanes and they just don't go far enough, We need cycle lanes along side EVERY road so we can do our whole journey without going on a road, So that we can smiles and be happy while all the motorists sit in the car grid locked, They can also ponder whilst being stuck,, These cyclist are having fun for nowt while we are here paying, road tax, Insurance, petrol, tyres, maintenance parking and fines,,,It cornt be reet,,

Who in their right mind would take their kids or grandkids for a bike ride on Wigan Councils cycle paths.
Upgrade the paths through the flashes in the borough so that families can enjoy a traffic free bike ride.

Very few people have given their views and ideas so you cannot complain that no one asked for your opinion. I am surprised that Tomplum has not asked for more cycle lanes. ????

Peter Israel’s link states - “This map shows the target area for this consultation (highlighted blue).”

But the only people living in that particular area are those in the new houses where St Edwards and Thomas More’s was. ie: 200 or so?

I never read the small print tonker but the map shows the Wigan West area and includes :-
Robin Park - grey?
Wigan town centre - pink
Then the remainder in blue.

Explain that then?
